Welcome to the Web site of the Council of Federal Tribunal Chairs (CFTC)

Scott Streiner and David L. Thomas appointed Chair and Vice-Chair of the CFTC

In May 2016, Scott Streiner, Chair and CEO of Canadian Transportation Agency, and David L. Thomas, Chair of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, were appointed to the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the CFTC, for terms ending December 31, 2017.

Established on January 12, 2007 under the name "Heads of Federal Administrative Tribunals Forum", the CFTC is the only committee exclusively constituted of federal administrative tribunals. It was established in response to the interest voiced by many tribunals on the need to maintain a tribunal-only forum to provide a setting for dialogue, learning and networking amongst federal tribunals. On June 23, 2016, members agreed to re-name the HFATF. The organization will now be known as the Council of Federal Tribunal Chairs (CFTC). A list of Member Organizations and links to their external Web sites are provided on this site. The site is created to provide a tool for federal tribunal heads to obtain and share information on the activities of the CFTC and its members. CFTC members are invited to provide material for the Web site, and to ensure the information is relevant and up-to-date.
